ZPAQ is a proposed open standard for highly compressed data, currently under development. When completed, all versions will remain compatible, even as new compression algorithms are developed. ZPAQ compressed files and archives contain a description of the compression algorithm, allowing older programs to extract files produced by newer programs.the program website 2009, March 11
